OUR MAUNDY THURSDAY SERVICE ON MARCH 29 AT 7:00PM WILL FEATURE EYEWITNESSES TO JESUS’S LAST WORDS ON THE CROSS. Seven laypersons will participate in the service by reading scripture passages. Holy Communion will be served. Join us for this most solemn night/day on the Christian calendar as we experience the passion and suffering of Christ. Everyone is welcome!
AN ECUMENICAL GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE WILL TAKE PLACE AT 7:00PM ON MARCH 30 AT ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH. The church is located at 41 Whitmarsh Avenue, Worcester. Parking is across the street. In addition to Park Congregational Church, participating churches include Zion Lutheran Church, First Presbyterian Church, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester, Greendale People’s Church, First Baptist Church, Salem Covenant Church, and St. Michael’s-on-the-Heights Episcopal Church.
AN ECUMENICAL EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE WILL TAKE PLACE IN INSTITUTE PARK ON APRIL 1 AT 6:30AM. We will be worshipping with the Worcester United Methodist congregations as we welcome Easter Sunday by gathering by the brown shelter in Institute Park just across the street from the First Baptist Church building. Participating churches include Wesley, Epworth, and Covenant-St. Andrew’s. Pastor Gary will be delivering the message.
OUR EASTER SERVICE ON APRIL 1 WILL FEATURE SELECTIONS BY OUR CHOIR AND A BRIEF MESSAGE BY PASTOR GARY. Join us for this most important holy day on the Christian calendar as we celebrate the event that gave birth to the Christian religion, the resurrection from the dead by our Lord Jesus Christ.
This is the regular 10:00am service hosted jointly by Park Congregational Church and First Baptist Church. Second Chance Animal Services will be holding a vaccine and microchip clinic in the parking lot after the service from 11:00am – 2:00pm. They will offer rabies and distemper vaccines for dogs and cats at $12.00 apiece. Microchips are available for $20.00. Dogs must be on leashes. Cats must be in carriers. Cash offerings will be donated to Second Chance Animal Services. We will also bless the ashes of deceased pets. You do not need to bring a pet to attend the Blessing of the Animals service. Everyone is welcome!
The Annual Worcester Pride Parade will take place on Saturday, September 8. First Baptist Church will provide a free breakfast and program at 9:00am in Gordon Hall before we march. Even if you cannot march, you are invited to attend the breakfast to demonstrate your support for our two churches as we show that we are welcoming congregations to the LGBTQ community.
The parade will begin at 11:00am from Humboldt Avenue, followed by a festival in back of Worcester City Hall. Everyone is welcome. Bring friends and family members. The festival is family-oriented with entertainment, vendors, food, and fun!

Sunday September 9 is Welcome Back Sunday. Come join us as we kick off the new church year at 10:00am in Davis Chapel. We will be celebrating Holy Communion, the Sunday School children will be registering for their classes, and the church’s regular ministries, programs, and groups will return for a new church year. including choir, lay readers, Children’s Time, Sunday School, Bible Study, and Game Night. We will also host a luncheon in the Lee Room following the worship service to which everyone is invited. Visitors are especially welcome. We would love to have you become a member of our family of faith. Hope to see you there as we begin a new year of fellowship, activities, and discipleship.
